Charlotte, NC - Champion Motor Graders (Champion, LLC) submitted an offer in March 2007 to the United States Defense Logistics Agency (Defense Supply Center Philadelphia) for its long-term “Commercial Requirements Contract” supply operation. United States military customers and other US government agencies will be able to purchase five models of the Champion 100 horsepower or “compact” class of motor graders through a special ordering system made possible by this long-term construction equipment contract supply arrangement.
In addition to its commercial models, Champion has modified its largest compact grader, the C86 C, into a militarized Air Assault Compact Grader – the “C86 AACG”. It has a specially designed cab which provides drive on/off capabilities with C-130 aircraft. It is also the only militarized motor grader currently available in the market which can be air transported in a single lift under a CH-47 Chinook helicopter, which was demonstrated to the 101st Airborne Division in a CH-47 helicopter lift at Fort Campbell in December 2002. The new long-term requirements contract with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) will provide the company’s customers with favorable pricing for all of the company’s products, including the C86 AACG Air Assault Compact Grader, and an extremely easy ordering mechanism. This includes shortened delivery lead times and comprehensive local product support.
The DLA offers Defense Supply Center Philadelphia (DSCP) special discounted prices on and rapid delivery of Champion equipment to all non-Department of Defense federal agencies, including the departments of Homeland Security, Interior, Energy, Agriculture, and all other government customers.
