CHAMPION MOTOR GRADERS,
COMPACT MOTOR GRADERS WITH TRUE ALL WHEEL DRIVE

Gary Abernathy puts a new Champion
C80 B Motor Grader through its final paces before shipping.

Charlotte, NC - The construction
industry will always need All Wheel Drive. According to convention,
All Wheel Drive becomes
critical in poor soil conditions or when operators need better
traction, more precise control over the machine, for finish
grading or on tougher jobs when rear wheel drive alone will
not do it.
“Our machines,” said Gary Abernathy “are
the only proven All Wheel Drive Compact Motor Graders on the
market today. With the resources we had behind us for the
last 11 years as part of Volvo
Construction Equipment, we were able to develop and field-test
a true AWD system on our machines and put them into production.
The engineering talent and resources that went into all of
our AWD models (C66
B and C86 B) make them the best available in our category.
With the design of our hydraulic system, we don’t have
to sacrifice power for speed.”
Gary also indicated that if a contractor required All Wheel
Drive due to the operating conditions, the price differential
between a compact unit and a standard-sized grader in the
36,000 lb. range could be as much as $70,000.
“I appreciate that these are two very different machines
but if it's All Wheel Drive you are looking for and the ability
to maneuver on the job site is the issue, then our C86 is
the logical choice.”
Champion Motor Graders, the newest company in the construction
equipment industry with a long and successful history, has
their head office and manufacturing facility in Charlotte,
NC. At this plant, they manufacture motor graders with an
operating weight of 12,000 to 15,500 lbs.
