Charlotte, NC - Most people
do not think about all the different jobs a motor grader can
do. According to Bryan Abernathy, Vice President Sales &
Marketing for Champion Motor Graders, “that’s
because people think about what graders do in grader type
jobs. Over the years, we have developed and engineered a number
of attachments
that increase the versatility and overall productivity of
the of the grader.”
“Our graders allow the operator the opportunity to complete
all the operations around the site from initial site clearing
to fine grading, compaction and cleanup with a single unit,”
said Bryan.
“V” Scarifer
The “V” scarifier mounts to the noseplate of the
grader and is ideal for use in loosening hard paced aggregate
surfaces.
Side Dozer
The side dozer is used to remove and/or retrieve displaced
material under highway guard rails. The side dozer is installed
in place of the moldboard and is hydraulically controlled
using the standard moldboard controls.
Dozer Blade/Scarifier This attachment is ideal for back-blading in tight spaces
such as alley ways or against walls. It can also be used against
walls or to knock down piles of stones or dirt for grading.
Rotary Broom
Used to speed up cleaning of intersections, jobsites and
roadways after maintenance. Brooms are available with manually
adjustable or hydraulically adjustable broom angle.
Windrow Eliminator
Ideal for gravel road maintenance, the windrow eliminator
increases productivity by leveling the windrow created when
grading, which eliminates the need for a second pass and reduces
the time spent to flag the work zone.
Compaction Roller
A perfect match to the machine that can do it all. The roller,
a rear-mounted attachment, allows the operator to complete
the job without having to bring along a special piece of equipment.
Plate Tamper
This unique attachment, rear mounted, minimizes the number
of pieces of equipment needed for road maintenance caused
by winter freezing or traffic.
Rippifier
Ideal for loosening hard packed aggregate surfaces, this
attachment is mounted to the rear frame.
Automatic Blade Control
All Champion Compact Motor Graders can be fitted with various
Automatic Blade Control systems, including laser, sonic or
slope control models for fine grading applications.
Champion Motor Graders, the newest company in the construction
equipment industry with a long and successful history, has
their head office and manufacturing facility in Charlotte,
NC. At this plant, Champion manufactures motor graders with
an operating weight of 12,000 to 15,500 lbs.
