CHAMPION AIR ASSAULT COMPACT GRADER

A militarized Air Assault Compact Grader based on the Champion C86 AACG has been engineered to meet TYPE III Motor Grader requirements issued by TACOM.

C86 AACG is a highly mobile and versatile all-wheel-drive earthmoving machine for construction of service roads and airstrips and for emergency response applications. Its specially designed cab allows drive on/off loading with C-130 aircraft. This is also today’s only militarized motor grader that can be air transported in a single lift under a CH-47 Chinook helicopter.

A new long-term requirements contract with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) provides favorable pricing and short lead times for delivery for all US armed services.

These photographs were taken during development of the AACG (Air Assault Compact Grader) program at Fort Campbell, KY, home of the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles. Champion recently returned to Fort Campbell to assist in refitting the graders for service.

Champion extends its particular thanks to the troops of the 101st Airborne Combat Engineers who took part in the program.
